Biography
Maria was born and raised in the Neath Valley village of Resolven into a musical family. In the 1970's her father Lyn Maddocks and his brothers formed a successful band called 'Reflections', entertaining audiences across South Wales.
At the age of nine Maria began to learn the piano and by the time she was sixteen, had gained a diploma with the 'Royal College of Music'. During this time Maria had also discovered a talent for singing, taking part in various local theatre productions from the age of thirteen. Realising her vocal ability Maria had her voice professionally trained.
With her knowledge of music and flare to perform Maria was now in high demand, taking lead roles in theatre productions, soloing in charity concerts and with male voice choirs. As an accomplished pianist Maria has also accompanied choirs, musical societies and concert soloists, in 1993 Maria became a musical director, conducting theatre orchestras.
Truly a born entertainer this extremely versatile cabaret singer has amazed audiences across the country with her sweet yet powerful voice, influenced by the unique voices of Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand. Her repertoire crosses genres and has something to suit all tastes combining Classical, Jazz, Show and Popular music.
